Juan Antonio Garcia Sr., known to everyone as Tony, was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend. He was born on October 3, 1950, in La Mesa, Texas, and passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, in Spring, Texas, at the age of 74. Tony lived a life marked by selflessness, strength, humor, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.
A man who never met a stranger and rarely said “no” to anyone in need, Tony was known for always lending a helping hand—whether it was fixing something around the house, supporting a neighbor, or just showing up when it mattered most. His work ethic was unmatched; he spent his entire life working hard to provide for those he loved, never once complaining and always showing up with that unmistakable grin.
Tony’s smile and laugh could light up any room, and his legendary sarcasm kept everyone on their toes. If you knew him, chances are you were on the receiving end of a joke—or ten. But behind that teasing exterior was a heart full of love, generosity, and integrity.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 52 years, Juanita Garcia, his devoted mother, Elida Garcia, and his sisters Nilda Norma Leza († Ernesto) and Nancy Molina (Reynaldo) He leaves behind his four children: Juan Antonio Garcia Jr. (Bianca), Joel Aaron Garcia (Annette), Jorge Abel Garcia (Isabel), and Jessica Ann Sanchez (Joseph). His legacy continues through his six grandchildren, the pride and joy of his life, who lovingly referred to him as Papa: Arianna Sustaita, Jake Garcia, Aaron Garcia, Ayden Garcia, Emma Garcia, and Joseph Sanchez Jr.
Tony’s life was a shining example of dedication—to his family, to his values, and to a life well-lived. Though he may have left this world, his laughter, lessons, and love will echo in the hearts of those who knew him. To know him was to know he was the life of the party; our world around us will truly be quieter without him in it.
Visitation for Mr. Garcia will be held at Rodriguez Funeral Home in Escobares, Tx on Thursday June 19 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. and on Friday June 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a religious service at 6:00 p.m. following his cremation.
