Marin Garza Hinojosa 96 passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024 in Harlingen, Texas. He was born in El Rancho “El Nogalito” Municipio de CD Mier, Tamaulipas on October 27, 1927 to Basilio Garza and Herlinda Hinojosa de Garza.
Marin was of the Catholic faith and worked diligently as an agricultural and life stock rancher. For a vast majority of his life, he woke up before the crack of dawn to feed and milk the cows and goats in order to provide for his family. Later in life when he moved to the United States in the mid 60’s, he worked construction until retirement at age 62. Limited opportunity for education never stopped him from striving to work hard and be a loving, dedicated father and family man. He was not afraid to get his hands “dirty” in order to provide for his family. Marin set a high bar for his family to follow with his unwavering work ethic and love. He was an example and mentor to many and will be dearly missed.
Marin is preceded in death by his parents Basilio Garza and Herlinda Hinojosa de Garza, his siblings Alicia, Paulina, Olivia, Eva, Cira, Idolina, Nicefero, his dedicated wife, Maria Gloria, his loving daughter Maribel and his caring daughter-in-law, Mirthala.
Left to treasure his memories are his son, Jose Noel Garza, Sr., his daughter, Herlinda G. Farias, his son-in-law Arnoldo Farias, Jr., his grandsons, Jose Noel Garza Jr., Gerardo Arnoldo Farias and Rafael Antonio Farias, and numerous nephews and nieces.
